Meeting of organizational development coordinators in Budapest, Hungary
ckrm11_logoThe annual meeting of the coordinators for organizational development was organized by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - Europe Zone.

The meeting was attended by representatives from 11 Red Cross / Red Crescent national societies, four representatives of the Regional delegations of the International Federation as well as five representative of the International Federation from Europe Zone, responsible for organizational development. Macedonian Red Cross was represented by the desk officer responsible for organizational development and international cooperation.

The topics discussed during the two day workshop were as follows: Strategy 2020 of the International federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, implementation of the projects for intensified capacity building, The report of the Advisory Board for characteristics of well-functioning national societies, e-learning – on line courses of the International Federation, organizational development issues of the national societies, the participatory community development methodology, human resources – support for capacity building, new models for leadership development  and from donations to partnerships.

During the working meeting Macedonian Red Cross had a presentation sharing experiences in the area of the implementation of the project for intensified capacity building which is implemented by the national society in the period of 2008-2010 and the assessment and analysis of the operation of Macedonian Red Cross branches. In frames of the presentation Macedonian Red Cross also presented the accomplishments in the area of mobilization of funds, the information management system and the financing of Macedonian Red Cross.

The working meeting was used for bilateral meetings with the representatives from the British Red Cross, Swedish Red Cross and the Norwegian Red Cross and the possibilities for promotion of the cooperation with these national societies in the forthcoming period, exchange of experiences and implementation of joint projects of common interest.

Among other issues discussed during the working meetings, the International Federation and Macedonian Red Cross agreed to organize a workshop in Struga, Macedonia in the period of November 30-October 4, 2009 on IPA funds and planning, monitoring and evaluation.
