International cooperation


The founding Assembly of Macedonian Red Cross was held on March 17, 1945. Macedonian Red Cross operates as an independent national society since May 21, 1992. Macedonian Red Cross was recognized by the International Committee on November 1, 1995 and become full-fledged member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies on November 27, 1995.

1 The international cooperation of Macedonian Red Cross is targeted towards improvement of the capacities of the national society for more efficient accomplishment of the humanitarian mission in the Republic of Macedonia and in the world in its efforts for provision of assistance for the most vulnerable categories of population.

Macedonian Red Cross has international cooperation with many international organizations and Red Cross and Red Crescent national societies by means of implementation of joint projects, humanitarian actions and exchange of positive experiences.

 


BILATERAL COOPERATION

Macedonian Red Cross has signed protocols for bilateral cooperation with many Red Cross and Red Crescent national societies that stipulate the programme cooperation of the national societies on national and branch level.

In frames of the implementation of the programme activities, Macedonian Red Cross has good cooperation with many international agencies and organizations such as diplomatic/consular missions in the Republic of Macedonia, International Committee of the Red Cross, International federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, USAID, UNICEF, UNDP, Project Hope and others..
